Use Facebook to Plant Trees and Win Cash

The iChapters Plant a Tree Drive is kicking off, so get ready to save the planet, and maybe even pocket a $1,000 scholarship, with a couple clicks of your mouse. Just by joining their Facebook page or taking an online eco-quiz, you can help 'em reach their goal of planting more than 100,000 trees this year!

From now through September 22, 2008, for every single person who becomes a fan of the [url='http://www.facebook.com/pages/iChapters/7061939610']iChapters Facebook page, the company will plant a tree. Plus, for every person who gets the right answers to a mere ten questions on the iChapters eco-quiz, yet another towering leafy giant will be planted, and given a chance to thrive. Last year's drive put 57,000 trees into the ground, and this year they're ready to do even more, but they can't do it without you, so fire up your mouse and say "Count me in"!

It's web eco-activism at its finest and easiest, 'cause all you have to do is click a button or two from the comfort of your very own chair, and somewhere out there, a carbon-reducing, environment-nurturing tree gets popped into the ground on your behalf. Plus, once you've helped green things up, you can download a cool badge for your profile page or website, to spread the word about the project and let everyone know you did your part.

iChapters sells digital textbooks, and used textbooks online. By opting for a paperless or secondhand book, you can reduce your personal carbon footprint and take a bite out of global warming, so green your school lifestyle by making eco-smart choices about where and how you get the texts you'll stay up all night reading in your dorm room before your midterm.

As though all that weren't sweet enough, the company is running a sweepstakes for college students. Every student who becomes a Facebook fan during the iChapters Plant a Tree Drive will be automatically be eligible to win a $1,000 scholarship. Talk about some serious green.
