How Solid-state Drives Work


Author's Note

Working on this article took me back to college computer science, where we learned about bits, bytes and, of course, memory. Back then, I sat in front of a Commodore 64 (that's 64 kilobytes of RAM) with an external 5.25-inch external floppy drive! Man, how far we've come.
